American Apparel makes an excellent short sleeved polo shirt! The stitching is really quite good--in fact, it's very well done. The shirt is great for everyday sharp dressing for us gents; but as Amazon notes it can be worn by women as well. Nobody notices anything! In addition, the shirt pocket is helpful if you want to carry a pen or some notes with you when you're "on the go."
The stitching is particularly well done at the cuffs and neck. If you take good care of this shirt, it can last years with the proper care. It is 100% cotton so you'll either have to iron it after the wash and dry cycle--or you may actually prefer to take the shirt to the cleaners instead. If you do follow Amazon's suggestion and wash this with permanent press items, PLEASE take this shirt out immediately when the dryer cycle is over to minimize the amount of ironing you may have to do to get out any wrinkles that may be in the fabric of this shirt.
If you are unsure about what size you truly need, either measure carefully and then use the charts above this review OR go to a store where someone can help you decide (by measuring) which size is best for you. You may find, however, that as of this writing this shirt is cheaper to buy on this website.
The shirts also come in a wide variety of colors; and I like that. They also come in sizes small to X-Large; and that's very good!
Overall, this is one fine sporty yet incredibly comfortable short sleeved polo shirt from American Apparel. These shirts are worth every penny you pay for them. I highly recommend these fine shirts.

* I purchased one, loved it, bought four more. I think I might buy a couple more colors. I wash it & hang it immediately, noticed no shrinking. The medium fits like a medium is supposed to fit - snugly and comfortably. And for 17 bucks, it's a steal. ...

Great company, great product
I decided to change the size of the shirts I ordered from Andrew Christian shortly after I had placed the order. I wrote an email to their customer service department one of their sales representatives personally responded to my email within a day, fixing the order. The order arrived promptly and I ordered some more right after the first batch got here! Polo shirts are perfect for looking not quite so formal and are very versatile. I highly recommend this product and company to anyone: reasonable price, good quality, and not to mention supporting a small company whose employees care about helping their customers.

good deal + a great fit (for men and women)

I have this shirt in brown and lavender - they are both over a year old, and after every wash they look and fit great. The fit is perfect for me (I ordered them in XS), I wear them alone or under V-neck sweaters for work.
I ordered my boyfriend a medium (asphalt) and it fit him perfectly. He has since purchased 2 more colors (crème and grass).
I have ordered other American Apparel items through Andrew Christianson and each transaction was smooth - I highly recommend them. ...

So I read the review before I bought the shirt and it really is an American Apparel shirt. This shirt is listed at $19 but I've seen the exact same product listed for $29. Same shirt, different price.
